I have to research the My Lai Massacre for a presentation in English (which isn't due til December, woohoo...) and all I can think of is how completely disgusting that is. I know it happened in the past but seriously, wtf? It's hard to believe that people from my own country did this; it's so incredibly embarrassing. Have they no sense of shame? Do they have no conscious? Jesus christ they were mostly women, children, and elderly. I was almost angered when I saw someone with my last name who was involved but they apparently tried to stop it, which is a relief... but still.

Okay. My two cents.

UM HI JENNIFER HERE IS THE POST YOU ASKED FOR!

Past few weeks have been rather eventful and successful.

I looked up Stargate SG-1 about a week ago to maybe see what I was getting myself into, but upon seeing the article on Wiki... It ran for 10 years and has a total of 212 episodes. ...Yeah, not doing that. I plan on reading up on episode summaries just to see how the characters with similar names to our subject relate to the folklore itself.

I also found the Poetic Edda, which is the written collection of stories in German Paganism! It's not terribly long so I can probably read it fairly quickly, but then there is Prose Edda. I'm not too sure if it's the same story just written in novel format, or a whole other adventure on its own. I'll have to check it out.

Tonight Alex and I are going to see the Peer Gynt suite at the Kennedy Center, which is also a Norse legend (according to my father, at least). We'll see!!

This weekend we're getting together to work on the power point presentation and work on it being entertaining to the class. ♥

We have our check-in tomorrow. We'll have plenty to show you! :D

HEY JENNIFER WHAT'S UP

oops lol posted wrong. Anyway.

This past week was interesting. We managed to get a lot done, if I do say so myself. :D I read a book called Epic which contained very many names which are relevant (like Erik and Harald and Bjorn, etc), and Alex is starting up on it now. We went through all the names listed in Wiki and wrote down their relevance in real life. Gram (or Balmung) is a very, veryyyy popular thing to use. It's the name of a very, very powerful sword. see see we're learning something

We went to Borders the other day and found that there's almost nothing on Norse mythology in the mythology section. There's a whole bunch of Greek stuff and Roman stuff and flaskdf. There was also stuff on the vikings themselves just... not the viking folklore and stuff. Which was super lame.

I got some recommendations for books from a friend and I'll see if I can get them by Friday x_x; aLJFDLKFJ

WE'RE WORKING ON IT?
